BIOTECON Diagnostics GmbH Potsdam, Deutschland und Xiril AG Hombrechtikon, Schweiz geben im Juli 2010 eine neue OEM-Partnerschaft bekannt: BIOTECON Diagnostics wird, basierend auf den Roboter-Arbeitsstationen von Xiril, weltweit und exklusiv eine eigene automatisierte Lösung für den Lebensmittelmarkt vertreiben. Der “foodproof® RoboPrep+ powered by Xiril” ist zusammen mit dem BIOTECON Diagnostics foodproof® Magnetic Preparation Kit und den real-time PCR basierten Pathogennachweiskits (z.B. für Salmonella) eine einzigartige automatisierte Lösung für die Lebensmittelanalyse.

BIOTECON Diagnostics, einer der weltweit führenden Entwickler von Schnellnachweissystemen für die Lebensmittelindustrie, hat erfolgreich die Zertifizierung seiner beiden Produkte zum Nachweis von E. sakazakii/Enterobacteriaceae abgeschlossen und damit erstmalig ein real-time PCR System erfolgreich einer MicroVal-Validierung unterzogen. Die Zertifikate wurden dem Unternehmen von Lloyd’s Register Nederland B.V. ausgestellt und gelten für beide von BIOTECON Diagnostics entwickelten foodproof® Enterobacteriaceae plus E. sakazakii Detection Kits sowie für Reagent D und das foodproof® StarPrep One Kit.

In response to a recent Salmonella outbreak caused by contaminated Peanut Butter with more than 700 infected persons, 9 deaths and a recall of more than 3900 food products, BIOTECON Diagnostics successfully participated in an AOAC ERV (Emergency Response Validation) with its specific and sensitive Kit for the rapid detection of Salmonella in Peanut Butter containing food samples.

In order to enhance the worldwide launch of its innovative Hygiene Screening System, BIOTECON Diagnostics has started a global sales cooperation with the Business Unit Microbiology of Biotest in Eppelheim, Germany.

Applera and BIOTECON Diagnostics announce a non-exclusive, worldwide licence agreement relating to PCR technology for Food Testing Applications and Genetically-Modified Organism (GMO) Testing Applications: BIOTECON has aquired important rights with the PCR licence.

Merck sells the foodproof® range which has been available in almost all countries of the world since January 1, 2008.
