Lebensmittelpathogene
Ein Pathogen ist ein Synonym für Krankheitserreger. Lebensmittelpathogene stellen eine besondere Form von mikrobiellen Krankheitserregern dar, welche über die Nahrung aufgenommen und verbreitet werden.
Im Folgenden sind eine Reihe von Pathogenen aufgeführt, für die BIOTECON Diagnostics geeignete foodproof® DNA-Extraktions und real-time PCR Nachweis-Kits anbietet. Viele der Pathogen-Kits sind durch anerkannte Institutionen wie AOAC-RI, MicroVal oder NordVal zertifiziert und damit unabhängig auf ihre Qualität und Sicherheit geprüft worden.

Salmonellen sind stäbchenförmige, Gram-negative Bakterien. Sie werden in der Gattung Salmonella zusammengefasst und der Familie der Enterobacteriaceae zugeordnet. Sie verursachen bei Menschen und vielen Tieren Krankheiten, u.a. Typhus oder Diarrhöe. Dabei ist eine Infektion über Lebensmittel häufig. Salmonellen kommen unter anderem besonders auf Eiern und Geflügelfleisch vor.
