Foodborne Pathogens

A pathogen is a synonym for a disease-causing microorganism. Food pathogens represent a special form of microbial pathogens, which are picked up and spread through food.

foodproof^® Cronobacter Detection LyoKit

In addition to the foodproof Enterobacteriaceae plus Cronobacter Detection Kit, BIOTECON Diagnostics offers the foodproof Cronobacter Detection LyoKit for the detection of all species of the genus Cronobacter. Since November 2005, the European Commission Regulation (EC) 2073/2005 requires the investigation of powdered infant formula for the pathogenic genus Cronobacter. Frequently contaminated foods are powdered infant formula (PIF) with and without probiotics, skim milk powder, human milk fortifier and sucrose.
